Finding God in Grief

Grief is something we all face. Whether it’s the death of someone we love, the end of a relationship, or even the loss of stability, we feel it deep. It’s the kind of ache that shows up when words fail and only tears speak. Even in the Bible, grief is real and raw. Remember Mary and Martha when their brother Lazarus died? They wept. They questioned. They hurt. Even Jesus,God in the flesh wept with them (John 11:35). He didn’t rush them. He didn’t shame their pain. He entered it. That short verse, “Jesus wept,” reminds us that God feels our sorrow. He doesn’t just stand at a distance; He steps into our pain.

Grief doesn’t mean you’ve lost faith it means you’re human. It’s okay to miss them, to cry, to ask God “why?” But also know this: just like Jesus called Lazarus out of the tomb, He can call you out of your dark place too. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but one day, healing will come. Your tears are not wasted. Psalm 56:8 says God bottles every one. That means your grief is seen, your pain is heard, and your healing is promised. You’re not alone. Even in loss especially in loss, God is with you.
