The fruit of the spirit is: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as described in the Bible. Our lives should developing these pillars everyday and the more we develop these attributes, the more we look like Christ and less like us!
Love: A selfless, sacrificial love for God and others. God demonstrates His agape or unconditional love towards us.(1 Corinthians 13)
Joy: A deep and lasting delight in God, regardless of circumstances. (Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength, Nehemiah 8:10)
Peace: A sense of inner calm and harmony, provided by God. ("And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus," Phillipians 4:7)
Patience: The ability to endure difficult situations and people with patience and forbearance. ("But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing," James 1:4)
Kindness: Gentleness, compassion, and benevolence towards others. ("Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you", (Ephesians 4:32)
Goodness: Moral and ethical excellence; doing what is right. (Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever", Psalms 23:6)
Faithfulness: Loyalty and commitment to God and to one's promises. ("If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness," 1 John 1:9)
Gentleness: A gentle and humble spirit, characterized by a lack of harshness. ("A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger," Proverbs 15:1).
Self-control: The ability to control one's emotions, desires, and impulses, (A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls," Proverbs 25:28, NIV).
