The LORD, the Psalmist's Shepherd.
¶[[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (I shall not lack, come up short, need, or want. He is sufficientin ALL things.)
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. (He causes me to rest in a prosperous, place. He leads me to a peaceful location and destination without any chaos or confusion. )
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (He heals those things that negatively impacted my soul: mind, will, imagination, intelligence. He leads me in the paths of righteousness or His ways and in the beauty of His holiness).
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (When I walk through a dark place, I will not fear because of His presence. When I need correction, He course corrects me and is a very present help in the time of trouble.)
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (He doesnt allow my enemies to triumph over me and prepares a feast before them. He anoints me for overflow and more than enough).
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. (The spirits of goodness and mercy is guaranteed to follow and pursue me everyday of my life and as a result, I am dwell in every place that holds His glory!)
