What’s Beneath The Surface?!?
Joshua 7:12(b)
I will not remain with you any longer unless you destroy the things among you that were set apart for destruction.
If you are hoarding anything that’s not pleasing to the Lord God beneath the surface, it will keep you from receiving your blessings!! Many of us have things hoarded beneath the surface, that’s weighing us down! We often think, just because they’re beneath the surface, no one will know that they’re there. But we serve an omniscience God!! Omnipresent God!! There’s no such thing as a secret, when it comes to the Lord God!! Come on somebody!! The word tells us, that the Lord God is mostly concerned with your heart. He’s mostly concerned with your inner you. Come on here. What type of luggage is your inner you packing? What’s beneath the surface? We are not going to be judged for what’s on the surface (your outer appearance), we will be looked upon for our inner person!! Come on here!! Self examine yourself church. If you have some things that are beneath the surface, that you know will keep you out of the will, it’s time to address those things, so you won’t be held back!!
In the book of Matthew 15:19;
For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. The word tells us, that we may indeed have some of these things hidden beneath the surface. Things that we refuse to address, because we think that we are ok. See, we will see the symptoms of these things that aren’t pleasing to the Lord God, but we will refuse to go get the medication that we need. Now in doing this, we are allowing the infection to spread. If we never repent for the things that are indeed beneath the surface, we will sadly be hindered from all the wonderful blessings, that has already been stored up for us!! Look here, you can have your swag on a hundred on the outside, but you inner swag, is negative 100. Come on here!!! What’s beneath the surface?!?
I use to have a car, when I was in college. A car that I never maintained. I mean I never got an oil change or anything. I just use to ride and ride. It looked nice on the outside, but under the hood was terrible! Because I refused to fix what was beneath the surface (under the hood), it started causing me all type of problems. Problems that could’ve been avoided, if only I would’ve addressed the issues, that were beneath the surface!! Hallelujah!! Choosing not to fix the issues that were beneath the surface, caused my reliable source, to stop being my transportation!! Come on here!! The Lord God, is everyone’s reliable transportation, but if we refuse to go beneath our surface, and address the issues, we will no longer be able to be in His presence!

Sometimes there is a lot of underlying trauma that is right below the surface. Sometimes all it takes is a little bump to show what's below.
Sometimes when you are tired and grumpy. Or just need a break and some comes calling asking you to do one more thing. That's when you will see what you're truly made of.
I am tired tonight and just made it home. Just finished cooking and someone called wanting me to come help them. It is the first time in a very long time that I dreaded leaving my home to go help. But I smile put my shoes back on and went.
I smiled, helped with a joyous spirit and I told the Lord thanks for being in me.
My God! My God! What a revelation! This is called making it really plain! Whichever way we choose to look at it, life can be simple or it can be complicated. However, it is the heart process and soul outcome that matters. Let's continue to keep our oil changed and timing aligned.
This is truly powerful. Sometimes there are so many factors that stop you from dealing with your underneath the surface.
Some factors are that you are truly ignorant and blinded to the situation until the breakdown occurs. Another factor is denial. And some people just don't want to deal with the work that has to take place to correct the situation.
But no matter what, God sees and knows. And if He is compelling you to deal with it. Then it is best to ask Him to show you how to deal with it.
