Here is a Math problem: No Rest+Busyness= Exhaustion. Sometimes, all of us can mistake busyness for productivity. We believe that the more activities we engage in, the more effective we are. We have developed a Superman/Superwoman mentality and taking on too many tasks are our krytonite. Rest is not a curse word, “No” is a complete sentence, and both were made for us. In the “rat race” called getting ahead, the worst exhaustion is mental exhaustion. Mental fatigue, emotional distress, and psychological damage are the “Big Three.” Unresolved issues create a mental jail for many of us. Strong delusion leads us into believing that because I’m not physically active, I am not productive.
We have been programmed and indoctrinated starting with our parents, corporate America, the media, and ending with ourselves, labeled as lazy when we are not working. We can rest and yet progress versus moving and remain stagnanated. Movement DOES NOT equate ti progression or productivity! Although this is an oxymoron; we must labor to rest. He MAKES us to lie down in green pastures because we will work ourselves to exhaustion or in extreme cases….your local funeral home! Busyness without productivity equal bondage. Sometimes,.the. enemy will use our work against us. The acronym for B.U.S.Y. is Being Under Satan's Yoke. Pasture represents rest. Here is what we must do:
1. PRIORITIZE by keeping the main thing, the main thing!
2 Create a schedule of appointments, assignments, goals, etc.
3. Don’t try to get it all done in one day! Slow and steady is the way.
4. Find an accountability partner.
5. Don’t bite off more than you can chew.
6. Learn not worry, becoming anxious, or depressed.
7. NO and REST are complete sentences. Learning to say and do BOTH of them!
